Egyptian Queen Cleopatra's Beauty Tips!
I've always been a fan of the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra. I remember visiting an exhibit about her and was amazed by all the gorgeous jewelry along with fun historical facts!
Cleopatra was not only one of the smartest but also the most beautiful women in history. For centuries people admired her beauty and talents. Its been said that she consistently smelled of dazzling roses. One of Cleo's most famous beauty secrets was a gold facemask she slept with at night. That's how she achieved her gorgeous, smooth, even complexion, blemish free skin. Here are a few of Cleo's simple but affordable beauty regiments.
MILK & HONEY BATH
For baths Cleo would mix milk from a young donkey, with fresh honey and almond oil. That's the trick to smooth glowing skin.
- Mix half 1/2 cup of honey (raw honey preferred)
- 3 cups of milk
- 5 tablespoons almond oil or olive oil.
- Add fresh flowers and citrus slices for a heavenly aroma.
Simply poor mixture into the bath and soak. You'll have glowing smooth skin in no time!
Milk helps release the bond that holds dead skin cells together, revealing the youthful skin underneath. Raw Honey is a natural antiseptic that removes impurities in skin. Honey also stimulates collagen production, which minimizes wrinkles and balances out the skin.
This regiment is used for overly tanned skin.
- 1 cup green grapes (crush to a pulp)
- 2 table spoons raw honey
- Mix and add to slightly damp face. Let sit for 15 minutes, rinse well.
SEA SALT BODY & FACE SCRUB
Sea salt was a natural scrub Cleopatra used to exfoliate her skin. I suggest doing this after your milk bath.
