Styling Your Home: Finishing Touches

Do you ever have a hard time deciding how to stage and accessorize your home? Sometimes, we think that the furniture, rugs, and drapes are all that matters in designing a space, but in reality, it is the smaller accent pieces and details that give a space its true character and help establish the mood for a room. In today's post, you'll see how I put my design flare and final touches on projects to give it that finishing touch!

Flowers, flowers, flowers! Botanical and floral elements, whether alive or faux, are such easy, beautiful ways to bring some charm to your space. Not only are they inviting, but they also smell great and add color to any room you are staging.

You can see how these arrangements bring color and unique textures to each room. It has also been said that fresh florals can improve your mood and promote relaxation, which is just an added bonus! Below, I included some pots and vases that you might like to use in your own home!

Coffee table books are the best accessory to have in your living room. Not only are they easy on the eyes, but they also offer knowledge and can represent your personality! Coffee table books typically contain aesthetically pleasing images and insightful information that you can peruse through while relaxing in your homes. Your guests will love flipping through the pages, which will let them get to know you better!

Here are some of my personal favorite coffee table books that I have in my own home. Not only do these books inspire me as a person, but they are beautiful accents to display. Check them out!

Accents are the best way to bring out the personality in your space. This is where the fun starts happening! In my projects, I love when clients have personal items that we can include in their spaces that have meaning or tell a story. I personally love traveling and global aesthetics, so in my own home I have been able to use items that I have collected when traveling over the years.

Here, you can see some accents that I used in recent projects during our design install! So many of these accent pieces are available in stores near you, you just have to look around to see what fits your personality and space best! I highlighted unique coasters, wooden trays, candles, and beaded swags that are easy, yet authentic ways to add to your space. Below are some products that work in most spaces I have designed!

White Marble Square Coasters

Embossed Wood and Metal Tray

Clementine Honey Apothecary Jar Candle

Beaded Triple Strand Swag

As you can see, it is truly all about the details! Our home accents and accessories help set the mood of who we are and what we want to represent. The "finishing touches" truly make your home stand apart.

We hope you enjoyed seeing some of our favorite "finishing touches" that complete a home. Remember, these are items that you can collect over the years and not just purchase all at once. Plus, it makes it more special when your accents and home accessories come from traveling, gifts, and/or are passed down from family members. Enjoy adding some "finishing touches" to your home!
